Visiting Feelings
Visiting Feelings gently invites young readers to treat their emotions as temporary visitors — feelings such as sadness, anger, fear, or joy are described as guests: ones you can open the door for, explore what they feel like in your body, see what they want, but understand they won’t stay forever. Using poetic, rhyming text and soft, dreamy illustrations, the book encourages children to notice how emotions “visit,” how they move through the body (like “a pit in the stomach” or “lump in the throat”), and to respond with kindness and acceptance rather than fear or judgment. A “Note to Parents” offers suggestions for talking about emotions with children and incorporating mindfulness practices in daily family life.
