Moon's Ramadan
Moon’s Ramadan tells the story of Moon — an anthropomorphic character whose visible new crescent marks the beginning of Ramadan. As Moon travels across the globe, she observes diverse Muslim families in different countries engaging in Ramadan traditions: fasting, communal prayers, giving charity, preparing meals like suhoor and iftar, henna art, lanterns, and sharing food. Each spread is richly illustrated and captures cultural variety — different skin tones, ages, appearances, clothing styles — while highlighting how despite differences, many practices unify Muslims during the holy month. The text is lyrical and inclusive, and back matter includes a glossary and fact pages that explain terms and practices. The tone is gentle, warm, educational, helping both Muslim children feel seen, and non-Muslim children learn respectfully about Ramadan.
